ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT AT MISHKINS

Mishkins-PWF-3554

This is just a quickie, but I ate at Mishkins on Friday night. I love Mishkins, its one of those places I go back to time and time again. It’s got a great atmosphere, the food never disappoints and the staff are so friendly. Plus they have a great gin menu and I do like my gin.

Anyway, I’ve written about Mishkins enough on this blog so I’ll just be quick with this one. Every time I go, I start my evening with a Diamond Fizz…Beefeater, Prosecco & lemon. Annoyingly, they have stopped doing their Sloe Diamond Fizz as they’ve stopped ordering in sloe gin. Shame.

I do have a slightly boring tendency to stick to favourites when I love a place and I have never gone to Mishkins and not ordered their steamed beef slider with onion & Swiss cheese. I love it. Because the beef patty is steamed, it is juicy without being greasy, and its full of flavour.

I do always like to order something I haven’t ordered before and this time I noticed they had a new addition…blue cheese and Portobello mushroom macaroni cheese! HELLO! That sounds like my perfect dish and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Rich and creamy with a crispy topping. The blue cheese added a tangy, salty depth, and the mushrooms gave an earthy meatiness. It was just wonderful. One of those dishes you eat and you have to close your eyes and savour every bite. My mouth is watering just typing this actually. I want to go back there right now and have another portion NOW!

I also ordered the obligatory side of onion rings.  They were fab as always, really well seasoned and beautifully crispy.

So there you have it, yet another great night out in Mishkins.

Oh you’ve got to! The beef one is amazing. I also had the lamb and minted yoghurt one on Friday night. Ate it too fast though and didn’t get a photo!

Wow! Thanks, Shan! Loving your blog, too! And, boy can I relate to being mad as hell at the weeks when I would only lose 1 lb!! We all have weeks like that, but don’t let a nuebmr on a scale mess with your mind! I couldn’t look at the weight I needed to lose- that felt too overwhelming. I just needed to get very mindful and do the best I could each moment and move on. All the best to you and thanks for commenting!
